Behind every Lale Studio piece is a loom, a pair of hands, and a lot of time. We are a small, slow-craft textile studio in Chrzanów, Poland, making handwoven wool wall art — sculptural tapestries and framed textile pieces created one at a time, entirely by hand. No factories, no shortcuts: just natural wool, a quiet workshop, and the patience that handmade work demands.

Our Story

Lale Studio began in 2016 with a loom and a love of weaving. What started as a small experiment in fibre grew, piece by piece, into a studio whose work now hangs in homes, galleries and hotels around the world. In 2021 we celebrated five years — a milestone we owe entirely to the people who chose something handmade over something mass-produced.

We have stayed deliberately small. Every tapestry is still made in-house, by hand, so that each one carries the same care as the first. That is the heart of slow craft: making fewer things, better, and standing behind every one of them.

How Each Piece Is Made

Everything starts with natural sheep’s wool. On the loom, the fibre is woven, layered and shaped into deep, tactile relief — ridges, folds and texture that catch the light and change through the day. Some pieces are set into solid pine, oak or walnut frames for a gallery-ready finish; others hang free from a discreet rod for a raw, contemporary edge.

Because it is real wool, our textile wall art does more than decorate a wall. It softens the acoustics of a room, adds warmth to minimalist and Japandi interiors, and brings the honest imperfection of handmade work into spaces that can feel too smooth. No two pieces are ever identical.
