Installation &
Care Guide
Everything you need to know about hanging, caring for and enjoying your Lale Studio & Shop tapestry for years to come.
Using the Four Mounting Brackets
Each framed tapestry by Lale Studio & Shop is prepared with four mounting brackets on the back, usually two near the top and two closer to the lower part of the frame. We recommend using all four points. This helps the piece sit flush against the wall, distributes the weight more evenly and supports the structure of the frame over time.
Measure the distance between the brackets carefully, transfer these measurements to the wall using a level, drill the holes and use screws or mounting hardware appropriate for your wall type. For larger formats, we strongly recommend installation by two people.
Mounting a Bamboo or Metal Rod Tapestry
For works presented on a bamboo or metal rod, two screws or hooks are usually enough. Position them slightly beyond the outer edges of the textile or in line with the rod length, depending on the piece. Once the rod is placed on the supports, the natural weight of the textile allows the tapestry to fall into its intended shape.
Always adapt the mounting method to the weight of the work and the type of wall in your interior.
Why We Do Not Include Screws
We do not include screws or wall anchors because installation conditions vary greatly from one home and country to another. The correct fixing system depends on the wall material, the weight of the piece and the way it is mounted.
For safety, choose hardware suited to your specific wall, whether drywall, brick, concrete, timber or another surface. A local hardware store or installer can help you choose the correct solution.
Important: Using incorrect wall anchors, especially on drywall or lighter interior walls, may result in the piece falling. Always verify the wall type and choose hardware appropriate for the weight and mounting method.
Routine Dusting
To keep your tapestry fresh, gently remove dust with a soft dry cloth, a feather duster or a vacuum cleaner with a soft brush attachment on very low suction. The goal is light surface care only, never aggressive cleaning.
Do not scrub the fibers and do not use high vacuum power, as handmade textile structures should always be treated delicately.
Water and Cleaning Products
Do not machine wash, hand wash, soak or clean your tapestry with water. We also do not recommend sprays, detergents or household cleaning products. Lale Studio & Shop works are decorative textile artworks and should be maintained only with dry care methods.
If you are unsure about a specific situation, contact us before trying any cleaning method.
Sunlight and Long Term Display
Avoid prolonged direct sunlight, especially from strong south facing exposure. Natural fibers and colors may gradually shift over time if exposed to harsh UV light for long periods.
For the best long term result, choose a wall with bright but indirect or diffused light.
Natural Fiber Shedding
Because many of our works are created mainly with wool and other real fibers, a small amount of loose fiber release at the beginning can be completely normal. This does not indicate a fault and usually softens naturally over time.
Natural Scent After Unpacking
After unboxing, some pieces may carry a mild natural scent, especially those made mainly with wool. This is normal and usually fades with time and regular air circulation. Please do not spray perfumes or fabric products directly onto the textile.
Acoustic Softness
Textile art can gently soften the feel of a room acoustically. The texture and structure of woven materials may help reduce echo and make interiors feel calmer and warmer, especially in more minimal spaces with hard surfaces.
Handmade Variations
Each work is handmade, so no two pieces are identical. Slight differences in texture, rhythm, fiber placement, color nuance or finishing are part of the natural character of handcrafted textile art and are not considered defects.
